New Hampshire has the most nursing-job openings per capita while Utah has the fewest, according to personal finance site WalletHub.
In a report released May 2, WalletHub determined the best and worst states for nurses. The site compared the states across two dimensions: opportunity and competition, and work environment. Those dimensions were evaluated using 20 metrics including average annual salary for nurses, nurses per 1,000 residents and nurse job growth.
Here are the states with the most nursing-job openings per capita:
1. New Hampshire
2. Massachusetts
3. Maine
4. Pennsylvania
5. Vermont
Here are the states with the fewest nursing-job openings per capita:
1. Utah
2. Nevada
3. California
4. Hawaii
5. Mississippi
