State superlatives: Best and worst states for children's healthcare, travel nurses and more

Here are the best and worst states across a variety of metrics that Becker's has reported on since March 22:

  1. Massachusetts is the best state for children's healthcare.
  2. Mississippi is the worst state for children's healthcare.
  3. Delaware is the best state for remote work. 
  4. Alaska is the worst state for remote work.
  5. Wyoming has the most physicians joining primary care.
  6. New Hampshire has the fewest physicians joining primary care.
  7. South Dakota is the best state for travel nurses.
  8. California is the worst state for travel nurses.
  9. Alaska, Vermont and Rhode Island have the most physicians trained in rural or medically underserved areas.
  10. Utah has the fewest physicians trained in rural or medically underserved areas.
  11. Utah has the best medical environment.
