In the last year, 18% of physicians have made a bad investment, according to Medscapre's "Physician Wealth and Debt Report" published June 12.
Here's where surveyed physicians said they suffered losses in the last year:
- Bad investments or stock market: 18%
- Practice issues (i.e. business problems, reimbursement changes): 10%
- Job less: 5%
- Real estate: 4%
- Legal fees or lawsuit: 3%
- Divorce: 3%
- Other: 4%
- Experienced no significant financial losses in the past year: 63%
