Reimbursement is physicians’ biggest issue with Medicaid, according to Medscape's “Medicare and Medicaid Report” for 2024.
Medscape surveyed 1,030 physicians across more than 29 specialties from Feb. 1 to March 19.
When asked what the biggest challenge was in dealing with Medicaid, 66% of respondents said reimbursement rates. Another 14% said program rules, 9% answered denied claims, another 9% answered cost of resubmitting claims, while afinal 3% answered other.
Overall, physicians told Medscape that they are seeking more adequate reimbursement in a more timely manner.
