A physician who was previously employed at Woodhull Medical Center in New York City was fired following two incidents that resulted in patient deaths, The New York Times reported April 11.
Ronald Daniel, MD, was fired in December following the death of a mother who gave birth via C-section at Woodhull. Two weeks after that mother's death, Dr. Daniel was involved in the death of a baby who died during labor.
The city's public hospital system said in a statement that it has "revamped and enhanced its protocols across its obstetrics and anesthesiology departments."
Becker's has reached out to Woodhull Medical Center for comment. This story will be updated if more information is received.
