Connecticut physician to pay over $4 million to settle false Medicare claims

Jasdeep Sidana, MD, and DOCS medical group have entered into a civil settlement agreement, according to a Dec. 15 release from the Department of Justice.

Dr. Sidana is the owner and CEO of DOCS, a Connecticut-based medical practice with more than 20 facilities offering primary and urgent care, allergy testing and treatment and COVID-19 testing.

This agreement with the federal and state governments requires Dr. Sidana and DOCS to pay over $4.2 million to resolve allegations of submitting false claims for payment to Medicare and the Connecticut Medicaid program.

The false claims were for medically unnecessary allergy services, as well as unsupervised allergy services and improperly billed services. The agreement also resolves allegations of Dr. Sidana and DOCS improperly billing patients for visits associated with COVID-19 tests.
