Los Angeles-based Alpine Physician Partners, in implementing Ambience Healthcare's clinical AI technology to support scribing, coding, CDI and patient summaries, saved an average 3.4 hours per day on documentation, Kilgore News Herald reported Oct. 2.
According to the report, Alpine clinicians said using the AI system allowed for more time for patient-physician relationships.
"With Ambience, our clinicians can focus 100% on providing compassionate care to their patients instead of focusing on their computer screen, ultimately allowing them to practice at the top of their license while capturing necessary information without having to take their work home," said Chan Chuang, MD, president of Alpine Physician Partners.
The practice tested a variety of AI documentation vendors before deciding on Ambience. Results from their trial period found:
- 3.4 hours per day of time savings on charting
- Significant increases in documentation accuracy
- A 32% reduction in feelings of burnout, per the Maslach Burnout Inventory
- A 90% utilization rate per clinician within three weeks
