U of Utah names Dr. Karyn Springer assistant dean for population health partnership program

Karyn Springer, MD, has been named the assistant dean for Intermountain Population Health Clinical Learning in the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Springer's appointment is part of a collaboration between the University of Utah and Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare. Dr. Springer will be working to facilitate educational experiences for University of Utah students in Intermountain Healthcare facilities, according to the Sept. 19 University of Utah news release.

Dr. Springer currently practices at the Intermountain North Orem Clinic in Orem, Utah, and serves as senior medical director for graduate medical education strategy for Intermountain Healthcare. Her new position will be official Oct. 1.

The Population Health Scholars Program aims to give a cohort of students training in population health concepts through a partnership between Intermountain and the University of Utah Health.
