In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, physicians are constantly adapting and refining their practice strategies to provide the best care possible.
Here, accomplished physicians share the smartest practice moves they made this year, offering insights into their innovative approaches and valuable lessons learned.
Question: What is the smartest thing you've done in your practice this year so far?
Eric Anderson, MD. Co-founder and Owner of Advanced Pain Institute of Texas (Lewisville). The smartest thing we have done this year is to renegotiate our current contracts with the commercial payers. In the current inflationary environment long-term viability of a physician practice is at risk without consistent review and thoughtful renegotiation of payor contracts.
Divya Joshi, MD. Former President of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Specialty Physicians (St. Petersburg, Fla.). The smartest thing I did was support my team in improving our patients' access to the ambulatory clinics. We saw our patient volumes increase and call center responses improve, and physician schedules were optimized. Other than quality and compassionate care, what could be more important than better access?
