Lee Health appoints Dr. Iahn Gonsenhauser as chief medical officer

Iahn Gonsenhauser, MD, has been selected as chief medical officer of Lee Health, a public healthcare system based in Fort Myers, Fla. 

Dr. Gonsenhauser joins Lee Health from the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, according to a Jan. 9 release. While there, he served as chief quality and patient safety officer and oversaw the patient experience for the seven-hospital health system.

In this new role, he will work in tandem with chief nursing officer Jennifer Higgins, MSN, RN, to supervise Lee Health's team of 2,400 employed and independent physicians and other advanced providers.
