Clinic owners to pay $450K to settle fraud charges

The owner of a Kalispell, Mont.-based chiropractic clinic and an employee will pay $450,000 to settle allegations of Medicaid fraud, the Flathead Beacon reported Nov. 15.

From May 2017 to October 2017, Basler Family Chiropractic owner Cody Basler and Erik Lund allegedly submitted claims to the Montana Medicaid program for medically unnecessary treatments.

The Montana attorney general's office said the chiropractors allegedly made referrals not directly related to neuromuscular condition of the spine and lacked documentation, according to the report.
