The California Medical Association was recognized by the National Association of Asian Pacifics in Politics and Public Affairs as one of its 2023 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Champions.
The award honors the CMA's efforts to make diversity and inclusion part of the organization's strategy, according to a May 31 news release. The organization's efforts include action across the board of trustees, medical societies, staff and policy work.
"I am honored and proud that NAAPPPA has recognized CMA’s efforts to incorporate diversity and inclusion into our organizational efforts and strategy," CMA President Donaldo Hernandez, MD, said in the news release.
"Supporting physicians and patients so that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health is crucial to building a strong and inclusive health care system."
