Here are 15 physicians who took on C-suite roles in July:
1. Charisse Sparks, MD, was named chief medical officer of Inspire Medical Systems.
2. Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health named Gregory Rokosz, DO, chief medical officer for Old Bridge (N.J.) Medical Center and Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, N.J.
3. Kevin Lewis, MD, was appointed senior vice president and chief physician executive of Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System, which has 17 locations across Illinois and Wisconsin.
4. Independence Health System, the organization formed by the merger of Butler (Pa.) Health System and Greensburg, Pa.-based Excela Health System, named Carol Fox, MD, its next chief medical officer.
5. Wyatt Decker, MD, former CEO of Optum Health, transitioned into the role of chief physician at UnitedHealth Group.
6. Ryan Van Donselaar, DO, was named chief medical officer of Danville, Ind.-based Hendricks Regional Health.
7. Demetria Malloy, MD, was appointed chief medical officer and chief health officer of Community Health Plan of Washington, a nonprofit managed care organization.
8. David Kim, MD, was appointed CEO of MemorialCare Medical Group, which includes Greater Newport Physicians and over 200 outpatient care centers, effective Aug. 21.
9. Amar Desai, MD, was named CEO of Optum Health, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group's Optum.
10. Adrian Park, MD, was named chief surgical officer of Hagerstown, Md.-based Meritus Health.
11. Fort Myers, Fla.-based Lee Health appointed hand and wrist surgeon Thomas Hunt, MD, as its vice president and chief physician executive of musculoskeletal medicine.
12. Farah Shafi, MD, was named chief medical officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island.
13. Elizabeth Cherot, MD, was named the president and CEO of the March of Dimes. She is the organization's first physician leader.
