Here are nine leadership moves Becker's has reported on since Feb. 7:
- Stephen Gryzlo, MD, was selected as the new head team physician for the Chicago Cubs. Dr. Gryzlo previously served as the team's orthopedist for the past 19 seasons.
- Molecular diagnostics company CellMax Life expanded its medical advisory board to add four GI and colorectal cancer experts to the team.
- Five physicians joined the recently formed Breast Cancer Clinical Advisory Board for Anixa BioSciences, a biotechnology company working towards the treatment and prevention of cancer and infectious diseases.
- Johnson & Johnson added Paula Johnson, MD, president of Wellesley (Mass.) College to its board of directors.
- Sharmila Makhija, MD, was appointed founding dean and CEO of the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, a medical degree program seeking accreditation in Bentonville, Ark.
- Johnson & Johnson appointed John Reed, MD, PhD, to its executive committee as executive vice president of pharmaceuticals, research and development.
- Samuel Johnson, MD, was appointed chair of radiology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.
- Lansing, Mich.-based E.W. Sparrow Hospital named Margaret Dimond, PhD, its new president. Dr. Dimond will be the first female president of the hospital in its 127-year history.
- Jordan Berlin, MD, was appointed director of the division of hematology and oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
