AMA launches national survey to document physician practice expenses

The American Medical Association has launched a national survey to document changes to physician practice expenses.

The results of the survey will be used to gain a stronger understanding of costs faced by today’s physician practices and provide accurate financial information to policymakers, according to a June 15 news release from the California Medical Association.

CMA is one of more than 170 healthcare organizations urging physicians to respond to the survey, which will be administered from July 2023 to April 2024. Physicians will be randomly selected to participate, the release said.

AMA has partnered with independent research company Mathematica to administer the survey.
