4 studies and surveys physicians should know

Here are four studies and surveys physicians should know that Becker's has reported since Feb. 14:

  1. Pairing primary care physicians with medical scribes were linked to a 26.8 percent decrease in burnout, according to an AMA study.
  2. A survey conducted by Sermo and LiveWorld found that 57 percent of physicians in the United States change their perceptions of certain medications and treatments based on social media content they have seen.
  3. Pediatric emergency room patients who had a telemedicine consult with a specialist were less likely to be transferred to another hospital, according to a study from the University of California Davis.
  4. Physicians are more likely to suffer from "imposter phenomenon" — the feeling of being inadequate due to personal skills, ability, effort and competence — than other professionals, with 1 in 4 physicians reported experiencing the phenomenon in a Mayo Clinic study.
