A physician in Washington has had his license suspended by the Washington State Department of Health following allegations of child molestation, according to a Dec. 28 report from NBC King 5.
Lu Gao, MD, PhD, who treated patients in King County, was charged with one count of second-degree child molestation-domestic violence and one count of third-degree child molestation-domestic violence.
The inappropriate contact allegedly occurred with a patient from when she was 13 to 18 and approximately between July 2008 and October 2013, according to charging documents obtained by the news outlet.
Dr. Gao was arrested Aug. 18 by the Bellevue Police Department and is currently on electronically monitored house arrest.
