New York City-based Mount Sinai's Arnhold Institute for Global Health was given $8 million to address global health issues.
The funds were provided by the Arnhold Foundation, according to a Feb. 13 news release from Mount Sinai. The institute plans to use the donation to further education and research in global health issues and facilitate collaboration among the health system's physicians and scientists with global organizations in developing nations.
Currently, the institute has healthcare programs in countries including Nepal, Kenya, Ghana and Guyana and has made care more accessible to more than 12.5 million people worldwide, according to the release.
