Larry Butler Jr., senior director of facilities at Penn Medicine's Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, is out of his role just one month after taking it on.
Mr. Butler began this role July 17 and his resignation was announced in an all-staff email from Daniel Wilson, Pennsylvania Hospital's acting CEO, Aug. 14.
He joined Penn Medicine from Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Ore., where he was named chief operating officer. However, he was fired in May 2022 shortly after news that he was sentenced to five years in federal prison for defrauding two of his former employers in August 2015 came to light.
In the email announcement, Mr. Wilson wrote that the hospital would be "restarting the search for our senior director of facilities effective immediately. Larry Butler has resigned from his position and is no longer with the organization. I will continue to provide coverage and oversight for this role, supporting the leaders in engineering, security, environmental services and food and nutrition."
