Flu vaccination rate drops 26% among Oregon healthcare workers

The influenza vaccination rate among healthcare workers in Oregon has dropped 26 percent in the last three years, according to a Feb. 23 report from ABC affiliate KOIN.

According to data from the Oregon Health Authority, 83 percent of healthcare workers got a flu shot in the 2019-2020 season, but that number dropped to 63 percent in 2021 and 2022.

During the 2018-2019 season, 91 percent of Oregon's dialysis workers received a flu vaccine, but that number dropped to 81 percent in the 2019-2020 season and then to 27 percent last year.

ASC employee vaccination numbers changed the least, with 75 percent still receiving a vaccination during the 2021-2022 season, down from 81 percent from 2019-2020.
