Dr. Adam Brady, chair of Corvallis, Ore.-based Samaritan Health Services, was named a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
The organization recognizes physicians and scientists who have made significant contributions to the medical field, according to a Jan. 5 news release from Samaritan Health Services. Dr. Brady was honored for leading his hospital's coronavirus task force and educating staff and his community about infection prevention and how to care for those diagnosed with COVID-19.
"There has never been a more pivotal and important time for the field of infectious diseases," Daniel McQuillen, MD, president of the society, said in the release. "These physicians and scientists are on the front lines of research and clinical care and represent the passion and commitment needed to educate and protect us from dangerous illness."
