1100 physicians call for gun safety legislation in Tennessee

Over 1,100 physicians in Tennessee have signed a petition calling on elected officials to enact stronger gun safety legislation in the state, ABC affiliate WKRN reported Aug. 21.

The push for gun reform follows the start of Tennessee's special session on public safety. Some of the physicians hand-delivered their signed petition to lawmakers, which called for a variety of proposed legislation, including red flag laws, school security and mental healthcare, the report said.
