The University of Iowa in Iowa City is looking for a new vice president of medical affairs and dean of the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine to replace Brooks Jackson, who will return to faculty once the university finds a successor.
Matthew Howard, chair and department executive officer of the department of neurosurgery, and Edith Parker, dean of the college of public health, will lead the search committee, according to a Jan. 12 news release from the university.
They will be joined by 11 other department chairs, professors, medical students and university directors. The university also hired search firm Spencer Stuart to aid in the search.
The search was paused in October after a candidate was chosen, but that person declined the position for family reasons. The search resumed in December, the release said.
