Six physicians made Forbes' annual "30 Under 30" in healthcare list, released Nov. 28.
The finalists were chosen by a panel that included AbCellera CEO Carl Hansen, PhD, Acme Capital partner Aike Ho and Gameto co-founder Dina Radenkovic.
Here is what to know about the six physicians:
Jon Lensing, MD
Dr. Lensing is one of the co-founders of OpenLoop Health, a startup that provides software for telehealth operations. It has a network of more than 60,000 clinicians.
Kevin Nguyen, MD
Dr. Nguyen is a resident physician at Morgantown-based West Virginia University who is developing new treatment strategies for skin cancer.
Joshua Ong, MD
Dr. Ong is a resident physician at Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan and studies the phenomenon in which astronauts experience eye swelling that can affect their vision. He has published the first textbook on the condition as well as more than 80 papers.
Reid Waldman, MD
Dr. Waldman is a West Hartford, Conn.-based dermatologist and co-founder of Veradermics, a dermatology-focused pharmaceutical startup with $38 million in funding.
Alex Yang, MD
Dr. Yang is the co-founder of Clearcut Surgical, which is developing a product that combines an electrocautery pencil with a suction device. The device, which has raised $1.3 million since its 2022 founding, has been submitted for FDA clearance.
