Benjamin Mizell, MD, has been named chief of anesthesia at Mass Eye and Ear, part of Mass General Brigham in Boston.
Dr. Mizell has been with Mass Eye and Ear as a staff anesthesiologist since 2012 and will assume his new leadership position Feb. 1, according to a Jan. 13 release announcing his appointment.
In this role, Dr. Mizell will oversee a team of more than 30 anesthesiologists and 15 certified registered nurse anesthetists in procedures related to the eyes, ears, throat, nose, head and neck.
Dr. Mizell is a member of the Board of Anesthesiology credentialing committee. He has also served as operating room medical director for Mass Eye and Ear since 2020 and has overseen major initiatives at the hospital, such as electronic medical record integration.
