Most nurses deal with burnout by talking with family or friends, according to Medscape's Dec. 9 "Nurse Career Satisfaction" report.
Medscape surveyed over 7,540 practicing nurses on the pros and cons of their jobs between May 3 and July 26.
Here's how nurses cope with burnout:
- Talk with family or friends: 49 percent
- Sleep: 42 percent
- Listen to music: 42 percent
- Eat junk food: 40 percent
- Exercise: 35 percent
- Spend time alone: 34 percent
- Drink alcohol: 24 percent
- Binge eat: 22 percent
