Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare made several senior leadership changes and reworked the responsibilities of executive roles.
Michael McAlevey, the group's senior vice president and chief legal officer, was promoted to executive vice president and chief legal and administrative officer, according to a Feb. 13 news release from HCA. In addition to his current responsibilities, his new role puts him in charge of marketing and corporate affairs, government relations, development, ethics and compliance and information protection and security.
Here are three additional changes the system made, according to the release:
• HCA's three operating groups will now report to Jon Foster, executive vice president and COO. The move is expected to improve coordination of planning, operational support and policy changes, the release said.
• Chad Wasserman, senior vice president and CIO, and Mike Schlosser, MD, senior vice president of care transformation and innovation, will report directly to CEO Sam Hazen to better align and focus on key company strategies.
• Mike Marks, executive vice president and CFO, is taking on responsibilities for all areas that currently report to the CFO as of May 1. Payer contracting and alignment will also report to him.
The company said the aforementioned changes are effective April 1.
