Craig Samitt, MD, has been selected CEO of Surround Care's National Physician Enterprise and vice president of the organization's Navvis population health company.
Dr. Samitt previously served as president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, according to a Feb. 28 news release. Prior to BCBS, he was vice president and chief clinical officer of Anthem and president and CEO of Madison, Wis.-based Dean Health System.
He has also held senior leadership roles at Worcester, Mass.-based Fallon Clinic, now Reliant Medical Group; Boston-based Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Harvard Community Health Plan, now Atrius Health. Dr. Samitt formerly acted as a commissioner on MedPAC.
