Dr. Charles Geller named chair of cardiothoracic surgery at Deborah Heart and Lung Center

Charles Geller, MD, will join the team and serve as chair of cardiothoracic surgery for Brown Mills, N.J.-based Deborah Heart and Lung Center. 

Dr. Geller was previously the associate chair of surgery and chief of cardiothoracic surgery for Springfield, Pa.-based Crozer Health, according to a Feb. 1 news release. He has also previously worked at New York City-based Lenox Hill Hospital and Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital, also in New York City, where he was director of the cardiothoracic surgery intensive care unit. 

He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Heart Association, Eastern Cardiothoracic Surgery Society, New York Society of Thoracic Surgery and Delaware Valley Society of Thoracic Surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Geller is a clinical professor of surgery at Philadelphia-based Drexel University College of Medicine and a clinical associate professor of surgery at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, also in Philadelphia. 

He has been named a top doctor five times by Castle Connolly Medical and numerous times by Philadelphia Magazine and Main Line Today within the last decade. He was also recognized as the "Best Cardiothoracic Surgeon" by the Delaware County Daily Times.
