Kristin Higgins, MD, has been appointed chief clinical officer of City of Hope Cancer Center Atlanta.
Dr. Higgins previously served as medical director of radiation oncology and leader of Winship Cancer Institute's lung program at Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare, according to a Jan. 23 news release.
She also served as a member of Emory's discovery and developmental therapeutics research program, in addition to treating patients as a physician and radiation oncologist.
In her new role, Dr. Higgins will oversee the center's clinical care decisions and cancer care innovation and will continue to treat patients as a specialist in lung cancers, the release said.
