Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C., added three physicians to its leadership team, according to three March 13 news releases from the health system.
Wayne Franklin, MD, was appointed senior vice president of the Children's National Heart Center. In his new role, Dr. Franklin will oversee the hospital's heart care services, including cardiac imaging and diagnostics, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac anesthesia, cardiac surgery and cardiac intensive care.
Nathan Kuppermann, MD, was named executive vice president, chief academic officer and pediatric chair for Children's National. In his new role, Dr. Kuppermann will oversee research, education and innovation for the Children's National Research Institute as well as academic and administrative leadership in the pediatrics department at Washington, D.C.-based George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Services.
Jacqueline Saito, MD, was appointed chief quality and safety officer and vice president for medical affairs for Children's National. As of March 1, Dr. Saito leads the hospital's strategy for quality, patient and employee safety and medical staff affairs. She was also selected to serve as attending physician in the Children's National division of general and thoracic surgery.
