Pam Oliver, MD, has been named executive vice president and chief medical officer of Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health.
Dr. Oliver has practiced as an OB-GYN with Novant Health WomanCare since 2005, according to a June 22 news release. She previously spent four years as executive vice president of Novant and president of the Novant Health Physician Network.
Dr. Oliver also served as physician service line leader of women's services for the greater Winston-Salem, N.C., market and has briefed U.S. congressional committees on Black maternal mortality.
"As chief medical officer, I'll have the opportunity to expand my focus on safety and quality, medical education, clinical research and health equity, which remains the driving force behind my work as both a physician and a woman of color," Dr. Oliver said in the release.
"I look forward to leading our care teams through an ever-changing industry, so that everyone in our communities has access to and receives remarkable care," she continued.
