Central Oregon Providers Network and St. Charles Health System announced Feb. 23 that COPN has withdrawn its petition to unionize, according to a Feb. 24 report from KTVZ.
The petition, which was first filed in June, was to represent physicians, advanced practice providers and other caregivers within the St. Charles Medical Group. The petition withdrawal was agreed to by the National Labor Relations Board.
St. Charles Health System is also under new leadership, with previous president and CEO Joe Sluka having stepped down in July of last year. He was succeeded by Steve Gordon, MD, who serves as interim CEO.
"We are eager to work with the new St. Charles leadership and are cautiously optimistic that during this six-month trial period they will deliver on their promise to continue to build a just culture organization," COPN organizing committee member and emergency physician Les Dixon, MD, said in a news release shared with KTVZ.
