The President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology is urging the White House to establish federal leadership focused on patient safety in its most recent report to President Joe Biden.
The council — an advisory board appointed by the president and charged with making science, technology and innovation policy recommendations — has argued that patient safety should be made a national priority by establishing a White House-led transformational effort on the matter.
In order to achieve this, the Biden administration should appoint a patient safety administrator and launch a national patient safety team that includes people from populations that are most affected by the issue, according to the council's recommendations.
