Jennifer Orozco, DMSc, PA-C, was named the first chief medical officer of the American Academy of Physician Associates, according to a July 11 news release.
In her new role, Dr. Orozco will lead the AAPA's clinical affairs department, which focuses on PA clinical practice, healthcare delivery, public health and emerging trends. She will also lead the organization's efforts in DEI, national health priorities and clinician well-being.
She has more than 20 years of clinical and healthcare leadership experieice. Before joining the AAPA, she was a principal for Health Management Associates' Chicago division and the Delivery Systems Redesign team. She also worked at Rush University System for Health and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.
Dr. Orozco has been involved with the AAPA as its president and chair, and she was on its board of directors and served as a delegate on in the AAPA's House of Delegates.
